does anyone know if it is permitted to relocate the battery to the trunk since in the rules it states that it can not be in the passenger compartment?

I can easily build a box in the back that seals it out but I would like some feedback on experiences from the field.

Thanks for your help.

You can relocate it to the trunk, but the NHRA requires an external cut-off switch sticking out the back of the car.

along with the battery box you also have to have a fire wall around it,if you do it in steel,it has to be .023 wall,if you do it out of aluminum it has to be .032 wall.and you moroso box must be mounted to the framerail or in this case the unibody with trought bolts, and nylocking nuts under the car,the reason is if you crash,.the battery can't go anywhere.i went though all of this last season with my first gen.
