so if swap it a TII w/ drive tran into my NA. I'm looking for a reliable 250-280 HP, I know that the stock TII makes about 180hp. What is the best way to achieve this HP? I'd like to keep the car as low key as possible so I don't want to increase the exhaust note too much.

also what is the stock boost level for the TII. How much can I raise the boost before it gets dangerous?

Stock block . Bigger turbo (cheap ones work) waste gate . Ecu . Fmic . 3" exhaust with mufflers @ 12psi should be good for 250 -300 whp.

I know that the 87-88 turbo II makes 182 HP and the 89-92 puts out 200 (205 HP for jspec) IMO if you want cheap power get a 3" downpipe get yourself a boost controller. the 87-88 TII has a boost ceiling of 8.6 PSI? I think and the 89-92 had a ceiling of 10PSI. Anything above 12PSI is considered high boost.

Adding more boost is a easy way to get more HP but if you want to run higher then stock levels you will need a FCD to keep the ECU from cutting fuel from the rear rotor.

Another easy HP maker is the exhust Racingbeat.com has some good stuff. I think there 2.5" down pipe is claimed to make 26HP on an 87-88 (S4) The racingbeat FULL 3" exhaust system claims to add 59 HP on the 87-88

A 3" turboback, intake, FCON, boost controller, injectors, fuel pump and hybrid turbo will do 250+ easily.
