I dont see it settling, I have clear containers of it around for the weed wacker and the lawn mower and it stays the same

thats a good question. i would think it would stay a true mixture. they are both hydrocarbons and the 2-cycle is readily miscible (dissolvable, in a sense) with gasoline. its the same if you thoroughly mix water and alcohol. the alcohol is less dense than the water, but the fact that they can be mixed with eachother unlike water and oil means it will stay in a mixture. not all soluble substances do that though. regular motor oil is miscible with gas, but im pretty sure if that sits around for a bit the motor oil will drop to the bottom.


didn't see rob's post until after i posted. but i would have to agree with him. although most people will shake the 2 cycle in a gas can out of habit anyways lol, i know i do.

I've been using pre-mix in my kit car for years. It's a pain to do but works and hasn't ever clogged any of the in line filters.
I always use a high quality motorcycle competion 2 stroke oil. They're mostly synthetic, not sure about it settling in the fuel, I always shake the car anyway to slosh it around if I've not been out in it for a few months.

If your looking for a good 2-stroke oil for pre-mix I suggest trying arctic cat apv oil. Its thinner then the other 2-stroke oils and it's designed to reduce heat. If I were going to premix apv is all I would use. I only use it in my sled.
