i was wondering if anyone knew where to get a performance throttle body on the cheap side. i've been wanting to swap it out and dump more fuel and air for a while, but rx7.com did some changing of stuff on the website and don't stock a swap anymore. unfortunately i don't know any machinists in my area that can get the butterflies right... so does anyone know where to get one for a fi setup no carbs....

try jt-imports, I think feed makes them. Not sure though

FEED is the only one that I know of, but it doesn't matter. It's not cheap, but let me know if you find a company that makes them besides FEED.

Damn thats even more expensive then FEED.

FEED is actually only $490.95 but with shipping and if you dont provide your throttle body the price rises quick. Shipping is the biggest bummer on them since we have to send it away to get done, we get taxed when you send it here and then another $50 to get it back to you. Shipping definatly adds up. If you dont mind it being done by FEED we can have it done cheaper by our machine shop.

I modify FC3S, 20B-RE, and 13B-RE throttle bodies by removing the pressure drop points throughout and reducing the thickness of the boundary layers on the tunnel walls. Have a peek over at http://bdc.cyberosity.com/pictures/ThrottleBodies .

I'm wonder how much of a hp difference does that make?? 490hp=??5-10hp??

does it make sense?Well I mean budget wise? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

I guess it's still a nice to have if your going all out. What effects does boring the trottle body have on drivability?

rxheaven86 04-14-2004 10:53 AM

well right now i'm cleaning up an 86 gxl and finishing cosmetic crap... and once that's done then i'm going to be working on finishing an all motor setup. the car already has every stupid bolt-on regular thing.... and i'm going to be building a disgustingly ported 13b and just dumping as much fuel and air as possible and trying to get the biggest numbers possible for a car that will mostly be driven hard in turns and stuff... it already beats enough stuff in a straight line with an atkins build in there.... so naturally having a bigger tb is going to help me get more fuel and air into the motor when it needs it
