I have heard Pacesetter headers rust out. Thats the only thing I have heard about them.

THe pacesetters are not near the quality of the higher end set ups, but they dollar to quality similar. For free it would be worth throwing on and replace it down the road when you have the cash flow.

Pacesetter header does tend to show more surface rust than the Racing beat header.....throw some header wrap on it and not only will it keep your underhood temp lower but you wont see the rust either.......lol Ran a pacesetter header on my GSL-SE for 4 years til it decided to make out with a wall, 2 years later and it still hangs in my attic and hasnt rusted out or rotted out. For free and at least 4 years of use you cant beat it.

I've offten heard that because the pipe has a quick bend right out of the engine, the extream heat of the exaust is what causes the pipes to rust. I myself have a pacesetter sitting in the box wondering if I should install it. I may just cut the pipes from the spacer and add a 2inch strait pipe to ease the quick bend.

The pace setter I had in my FB took some work to make it fit, and the gaskets it came with were crappy...but all inall for the $100 I paid for it it wasn't bad. The ceramic coated ones are decent.....

So what about the mufflers i have to go with the headers? i bought the tsudo mufflers that i saw on ebay. i plan on keeping my dual setup. also, would you all suggest that i remove the cats or at least keep one of them? i have no clue when it comes to cats.

Black8 06-04-2005 07:55 AM

Chuck them all...if you can take the noise...but if you have to keep one, keep the main one...the rest get replaced by the header anyway.

which is the main cat? is that the last one heading towards the rear of the car?
