this is 3/8NPT on the end of my new fuel rail. The vendor (un-named for now) said it's not damaged, but it sure does look like it. If this were another component, I would not feel bad. But this is a fuel rail, I'm worried it might leak. I can try to chase it......what do you think?

it hasn't even been debured. But I guess for an NPT, it doesn't really need to be. Just doesn't look very professional. The ends were not capped for cleanliness, and there's some metal shavings inside the rail. I'm very dissapointed. My order was $600+ and I had plan on doing more business with them.

Those first few threads do look pretty shaky. I guess whether or not it leaks will depend on how far the male fitting will thread down into the hole.

That first picture would have me worried. How well does your fittings screw in?
|
Have you tried to screw a fitting in yet?
|
no, I haven't tried a fitting yet. That's the other part of the story.
The rail is supposed to come with 6AN adapters. The vendor told me that they were unable to find them, however they gave me an Earl part number and told me to get them myself. Yet they charged me full price for the rail. Ofcourse, on the bottom of the order receipt, there's a disclaimer saying that this part is for racing only and so there's no warranty or guarantees.....blah blah blah. I thought this vendor was pretty reputable......guess I'm screwed. |
opt to get a replacement...

Yeah, I would ask for another one or let them refund my money. If they don't cooperate I would ask them if one $600. sale is really worth a pissed off customer with internet access. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
