So I see these a lot on ebay

And I'm wondering what the deal is, do these replace the normal air filter case and mount onto the metal unit that attaches too the bottom of that? What is done with the hose going from the air filter case too the air pump? And if I've got a KN flat filter replacing the stock one already, will I even notice any gains from this other than being able to clean out the air filter housing and plastic tracking leading up too it (if my presumption is correct in that it replaces the standard filter holder).

That particular filter doesn't accommodate the airpump as far as I can tell. The K&N FIPK kit I sell in the store does, however it costs quite a bit more.

Basically take everything from the beginning of the box forward, that goes.

I am guessing this is for an FC. They are nice to have, but not really worth, unless you are looking at cleaning the engine bay out a little bit. I would take a look at doing a cold air intake.

This might help some....https://www.nopistons.com/forums/ind...&hl=custom+CAI

I am thinking of personally doing this, it is a little bit cheaper, and alot cooler(in the air aspect and look aspect).

Good luck. And if you don't want to do all that, just stick with the K&N drop in air filters. They are a little costly, but have a million mile warranty, and you can clean them whenever they get to dirty.

Thats what I figured, and I took everything off from the airbox forward just to see how it would look, I really like how clean just taking that off makes it look, I'll keep an eye out for a FIPK or an adapter plate that retains the air pump hole then.

I've seen them on there occasionally for about 140 bucks, but they don't have a heat shield, guess I'll have to fab it myself, or just spot the cash for a real one that includes one.

Thanks for your input, I dunno if I want to go so far as the link you sent, cutting into body panels is a touch more than I'm willing to go. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

to accomidate the airpump u will have to order a mini filter either from k&n or buy one from autozone in the rice section. i didnt like those filters so i got mine from k&n. it fit nicely( way better than the one from autozone). it fit over the hose instead of inside of it. i also cut my hose to bring it back so it is suported between the rad. hose and the afm. i'll post a pic of what it looks like

the main filter in that link u sent is the one my cuzzin has. its a bit long for that space. i got mine from ebay. u'll just have to look for this one. i think the FIPK is more money than u need to spend. i payed 50 for the main filter and paid 20 for the mini filter both from k&n. just get the adapter plate(if its an s4) and the mini filter. it'll save u money. if there is a performance difference between the FIPK and this than someone tell me please.
