I run just one MSD 6a on my Leading and its fine. Unless your looking for 600rwhp+ or running 0 split throwing a amp on your trailing isnt going to give you much, its way overkill. The Leading burns the large majorty of the mixture since it fires first. The stock trailing is pleanty sufficient for what ever is left over.

You can buy a MSD 6a on Ebay for less than $100.

Why spend all that money on a HKS just to amp the trailing which is a waist. Get a MSD and use all the amp resources on Leading where its needed the most instead of having to break it up for L and T.

Anyway, thats my .02 and its working great for me

If you amp the L and still have problems I'd have to say your problems are in the tuning not the spark

does anyone know if a jacobs ignition pack from a 1988 will work on a 3rd gen..

TYSON 02-12-2003 10:45 PM

MSD-4 will not work because it can not charge the capacitor enough to fire 2 channels at the same time https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

I have the HKS but I have never used it yet. What is wrong with the HKS unit? I was told to go with HKS with the PFC, I heard it was really good but now you guys are saying it isn't. So what's up with it?

Thanks,

Scott

My experience with the twin power was quite different from ErnieTs. I had consistently been running 12.3-12.4. From one weekend to the next, I changed my plugs, cleaned my air filters, installed the twin power & ran a 12.06 the first time down the track followed by a 12.09. The plugs I swapped out were not that old and the K&N was not that dirty so I am inclined to credit the twin power.

Tuners have said for years that the stock ignition is all you need so if your ignition is in great shape, it may not do anything for you. I may have had a weak coil or something so the car engine reacted well to the additional spark, but I am not about to take it off.

Installation takes 15 minutes. Try it and see what happens.
