I see so many and they all say you have to match the resistance if low or high ohms.Which are the hottest coils we use on the FD? I have MSD DIS-4. Should I run 4 coils , three one motorbike double and two separates, or just two for the leading.I dont want anything from Jacobs.......... experience.

MSD HV PRO

CRANE

ACCEL

DYNA II

i think i would run one coil for each leading. i think thats why the fc has a problem with flooding, because once one plug is wet neither fire. granted for you its prolly not a big consideration, but you do want the most power to each plug.

not sure but i think if you go cdi, then the coil is just a transformer and they all work pretty much the same?

Yes - with a CDI, the coil is just a transformer; it doesn't actually store the energy like an inductive. However, you can still adjust some parameters (ie higher inductance gives longer duration spark, lower inductance gives hotter, shorter spark). The best coils for the DIS-4 are probably the MSD 8230 coils (small too).

One thing to note: the DIS4 will not properly handle both leading and trailing, as they fire too close for the DIS-4 to recharge itself. The only CDI that will is AEM's new C2DI, which was designed with this in mind.

HKS twinpower I suppose also, but being a piggyback type CDI, its potential is limited (ie if it had any real power, it would damage the factory ignitor).
