I was looking at hoods and I ran across the REsuperG car and saw that it had a Greddy TD07S-25G Single turbo in it. Does anybody know anything about this kit?

IGY 08-05-2003 08:02 PM

Yeah, that's RE Amabiter's turbo of choice for all his cars. Falls somewhere in between a TO4S and a TO4R. Not a bad turbo until you have to rebuild it. The kit is waaaaaayyyyy over priced, just because of who offers it. You would be better off buying a T78 kit.

Thanks. Do you know where I can find some info on it? I was thinking about the T-78, but I saw the TD07S and wanted to check it out. Kinda want to be different from everyone else.

In this case I don't think different would actually be better.

true... so you think that instead of going through all of the trouble trying to make the td07s work... i should just put a t-78? well that would be a little bit more reasonable if its better. which i really don't know. which one is better.

t-78 is better power wise, td07 will spool a little faster

TD07---hummm seems to be pretty popular around here BEFORE for Curcuit FDs and Drag FCs. I saw I think an FC with it not too far back.. Like mentioned before, its kind of a funny size.

I just looked in my TRUST catalog and found a kit but only for the FC. Which of course you can get it for the FD, but $$$

I would go T04R, but thats just me https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/tongue.png Since thats what I want. It all depends on your needs though man. If you want to be original get a T04Z hehe

Empire 08-13-2003 08:46 AM

cool... so is the t04z out? do you know how much it costs? and if the td07 has a kit for the fc do you know how much the fd kit runs? thanks man

I have a TD07-25G 17cm divided turbine on my stock port 13B-RE and love it! The power is great over 3200rpm and pulls farther than I want to rev my engine right now (hits the 8300 limiter easily). I raced my friend in a straight line and was dead even with him once we both gained traction. He has a 383 chevy V-8 in his FC that put out 486bhp on the dyno. I'm guessing we were about the same weight because his car is 2850#s and I haven't done any weight reduction and also had a heavy passenger in my car. My boost was about 10-11psi untill ~6300 then it started to climb to 15 by 7500 (creep). With the way it's set up now I can spin the tires in 3rd gear on a nice and cool day so it's plenty of power for my little FB https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

I got the turbo fairly cheep at about $650 used/rebuilt. I then made my own manifold from SS. I think I have ~ $1200 into my turbo "kit" including my 46mm tial WG, turbo and custom tubular manifold. If you are able to make it yourself you can save TONS of money over a kit that is ready to slap on.

I say go with the TD07 but I may be a little biased https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png I remember when I was looking at them I found a site that listed them for ~800-900 bucks new.... wish I remember that site. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif

Good luck on whatever you choose!
