ive read in a VW mag that they did that, cryogenic thing, to the blocks, since they are air cooled, this helped keep the temps down. has anyone tried this on the iron plates of a rotary?? would it be worth it??

edit: i was just reading their site, http://www.cryoscience.com, i think the whole freaking engine can be cryoed, maybe even apex seals....

sounds like it might be worth a try. earlier today i was also pondering coatng the side housings and/or rotor sides with a poly moly friction coating like they do on piston skirts. and maybe do the rotor faces with a ceramic heat barrier.

I think Pineapple offers that as an option on their motors

afew questions:

can you ceramic coat the rotor sides and the inside of the housings?

can the rotors/housings be made from Chromoly (light weight steel)?

would ceramic rotors/drive shaft work (would be expencive but worth it)?

anyone?

Racing Beat offers flame sprayed plasma coating on the iron side housings which is what the use on the aluminum ones and they claim excellent results.

Probably, but it would be a bitch to balance so i havent seen one made yet.

Guys I have played with cryoed parts for sometime now. It is really hard to believe that something that you can not see any difference in the part makes an improvement. Let me say this. It works.

Jeb over at www.deepfreezecryo.com has helped us out on driveline problems in the past. One of the biggest differences we have noticed is clutch and brake life.

If you guys have any questions give him a call and he can explain the process. He is a hardcore car guy and loves to talk motorsports too.
