I'm going to get a downpipe for my '93 RX7, mostly to help it become more "reliable". The two downpipes I'm considering are the SR Motorsports downpipe and the Bonez downpipe. Which is better quality? Any other recommended downpipes?

I think the M2 is really nice. EXCELLENT fit. I installed one on my friends car.
I have the ATR on my car. Nice piece, but the fuggin O2 flange is in a shitty spot... (Hits the firewall a little when engine torques) I think either of the two you listed should do just fine! |

Here is my experience:
I've tried the Corksport but it was not made correctly. I was told there were no stud issues but there was. The flange to the cat was at the wrong angle and made a huge gap! I had to send it back for a refund (after jet hot coating it). I tried to order the M2 replica from RotorMotorSPorts and luckily no one ever answered, the machine was full and my e-mails never went through. The M2 is the "only" DP that I know of that does not require removal of one or more studs. Wish I had one! I am know using the HKS, which looked like a carbon copy of the OEM pre-cat less the cat. I still had to remove one stud and there is a gap between the flange and the manifold. Not having another working car and a clogged pre-cat, I can not return it! The O2 sensor is in the same location as the pre-cat and the DP is the exact same color which could fool the smog guy but with a Efini Y-Pipe you need lady hands to replace the O2. I have seen the Pettit (thick mild steel flange) and Tri-Point stainless steel DP's which are very nice quality but reuire replacing the studs with bolts. DP stud problems: Sometimes they come out just removing the nuts when you don't want them to. Sometimes they don't come out at all and snap off which then requires drilling them out. |
i just put my M2 downpipe in last week. no fitment issues at all. the maincat flange lined up perfectly, O2 bung was in the right spot.
just make sure you soak those studs a few nights before screwing around with them. |
