Over the last while I have been doing some reading on the always debated sythethic versus dino oil. From this I have chosen to go with Mobil1 10w40 synthetic. Something I learned at the beginning of this winter that I had not known about was to add 4oz of 2 stroke oil to each fill up of fuel(wish I knew this with my old TII).

Now for my question and confusion.......

Something that is not clear with me, and has not been addressed really in my searches is the fact of using sythetic oil AND adding the 2 stroke oil to the fuel.

Im not sure if i read it correctly in a post, but i thought it said if you use synthetic you are not to do the fuel/oil adding. I thought i also read in another one that it its ok to do both?!?!

In comparrison to the FD and FC, the OMP is electronic in the FD and not in the FC. What i also read is that if you do put 2 stroke oil in the fuel you are to omit the OMP(read that about the FC)beacuse there will be too much oil in the chamber. If this is true should it be done to the FD also(and how cause its electronic)??

Could some one PLEASE clarify all of this as it has confused me on whats right and wrong! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif

ok lots of things youre asking here https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

synthetic vs dino is ongoing debate..im not gonna get into it..i use dino...people are happy with both

for the OMP and premixing, you need not to premix if your OMP is working.....although the 2 stroke will lubricate and burn more efficiently than the 4 stroke that the OMP will inject, it is ok

FD have electrical OMP, as do s5 FC, s4 FC are mechanical

if you use synthetic its fine to premix, the synthetic vs dino oil are used for oil system in the car... the premixing is used to inject oil into the combustion process ... the two are totally different systems...so what you use is no matter for each other

when premixing... use TCW-3 oil only, as it is certified to be the best

any more questions feel free to ask

ps. if you have your OMP working still you dont need to premix...you can add some to the mixture but it is not necessary

Thanx......and to check if the electronic OMP is working on a FD is how?

If the OMP is working there is no harm in doing the pre-mix anyways right? Perhaps the more the maryier?!?!

the ecu has a position sensor, so it tells the pump to open to a certain point and then has a sensor to see if it actually does. and if it doesnt it freaks out.

adding a little pre mix to a car with the pump doesnt hurt especially if you're driving it hard, you really dont need that much
