I know that the R1 and R2 versions of the RX7 have a secondary oil cooler. As I plan to beat the living hell out of my '93 touring package RX7 one of the things I would like to do is add the secondary oil cooler that came on the R1 and R2. Does anybody do this? Is it hard to do? Will is cost a fortune? Where do I get the parts? Any better options?
Thanks guys! -John Magnuson |
Search the for sale sections in the forums. You might find one on Ebay, or thepartstrader.com. It's hard to get just the Passenger cooler though... I would look into buying a set of upgraded coolers for the FD. It will come with all new lines, and look bad ass.

the problem with adding another cooler is that you need the plumbing for it, its much easier to add a larger single cooler, all you need is/are the adaptor fitting

It's not that hard at all I did it on my 93 Touring I got right oil cooler from England {Jimmy's Rx7 uk} for I think $120.00 and it only had 10.000 miles on it. The line I brought from a wreck yard in atlanta {this is big with mazda} Anyway I brought the oil cooler and the line from him for $200.00 even though the right side did not meet my expectation {poor condition} so I end up selling for $50.00 which was cause it was not leaking just had some bend fins. I'm in the process of buying one off a wrecked r1. Just make sure you get the lines.
