Id just like to know how big the nos kits are being used on some of the drag cars there? being from Australia, the non turbo nos thing is not very common at all here... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

Thanx...

My buddy that has the world record on a 3/4 tube chassis, 8.68@150mph runs 250 shot to the back tire. thats about 275hp shot to the engine. I use some nozzles made by NX nitrous kit. each nozzle could handle up to 250hp. I usually tune with 2 "shark" nozzles by NX nitrous kit. the 2 nozzle kit could handle up to 500 nitrous shot. Did I mention I love rotaries on nitrous?? :-) My Rx3-sp will use 4 "shark" nozzles in a 2 stage nitrous application. One stage to control launch and the other stage mid track. combined horsepower between both stages will be 300 hp shot.. either I break the full tube chassis nitrous record, or I break my insanity..

Wow I didn't know they could take that much.

Very well said Ito. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683827.gif

My best to date on a 4 port N/A engine was as follows: (not my vehicle)

4 wet nozzles, one per runner, 45 jets in the nitrous side, 26 jets on the fuel side, 1000 psi of bottle pressure, and 40 psi of rail pressure, resulting in a 365 hp total flywheel shot, run off of a progressive controller, beginning with a 20% duty cycle and a ramp-up of 5 seconds.

Thanx for the info fella's,greatly appreciated...

What i would like to know is what sort of ports, inlet manifolds, throttle bodies etc is used with this as i would like to NOS a na engine. How much power would you need of the gas to produce some good power?

The thing i dont understrand is that when turbocharging an engine, flow figures can be calculated as to what size throttle body, inlet manifold flow etc but because there is no pressure ratio so how is this worked out? Is the VE worked out at above 100%...???

Any help is very much appreciated...

Cheers

Did the stock ignition light this? You dyno'd it?

No, and no.

The owner of the car had it dyno'd when he returned home. I was not present for the dyno, but it did put down some impressive numbers.

My nitrous configurations depend completely upon the motor, and ultimately, my motor build depends completely upon the type and size of forced induction used.

Why not tell us what you're looking for, budget, vehicle use, and we'll talk from there... otherwise, I will talk forever.

"As for how much does it take to make horsepower?" How much power do you want?

For calculating your engine parameters, I would still also need to know how much power and what kind of engine... VE of the engine is not changed in the calculations, no.

I'm almost sure one day I'll touch aussie land. I would love to start the nitrous craze in the land down under. I'll come back soon and try to help you some more. I'm a bit busy and gottta run.. I'll be back.
