so, im rebuilding my 13b out of an 86 base(with upgraded parts mind you) to go in my 87 corolla (AE86), well i went out to a junk yard and pulled a turbo off an 85 thunderbird turbo coupe, does anyone know the size of those specific turbos? i think its a T3 but im not sure so if theres anyone who can help me out with that lil bit of info id appreciate it.

if youre looking into making big hp numbers, u can also use the rear off that turbo coupe...

as far as your question, i have no clue. something along the lines of a t25 would be my guess.

Im kind of curious about putting a 13B into the ae86 chassis, i could understand if you put in something like the 12A bcause its carb, and you dont need to worry about the entire electrical system thing, but when using the 13B dont you need to do take into account something like making a custom wiring harness and all that stuff. I thought about the 12A idea but it only makes like just over 100 ponies, so whats the point. And if you go nuts on a big port job you wont pass any emissions test in your country (plus fuel injection if is just better for perfomance monitoring).

I would like to do the 13B swap, though so could you maybe post some more info as what you had to go through, and how mounted the engine.

Thanks !!!

no no, i didnt mean carb the 13 B, what i meant is that most people install the 12A becasuse it isnt fuel injected. But because the 13B is, wouldnt it be really hard to stick it in a car like a ae86.

maybe my point is kind of hard to understand, but basically isnt it hard to stick a fuel injected engine into a car which is supposed to be carburated??

The only difference between fuel injection/carburetion/throttlebodies etc. on an engine is the gubbins mixing the air fuel. My suggestion was th stick a carbuerator on the 13b and then stick it in thew corolla. But you're right - the project is probably more hassle than it's worth.
