thats...for a 240.

yeah, RB20DET, Jun "copy" intake manifold. Home made intercooler, FCON, basic crap, bla bla bla. the swap was really easy and ****** cheap! He hasn’t driven it finished yet. i think he will like it. My butt dyno says maybe 310 HP, nothing like the 7 though. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif the low end power!...makes me wet. 1 Bar at 2800rpm.

i want a ride in a RB that works correctly or to drive one

TylerTRD 04-28-2005 01:12 AM

its super smooth. the frount end is very heavy though, it killed the cars balance. And i blew out a tie rod on the way home : (

Black8 04-28-2005 10:41 AM

I think I've seen that car at a DGTRials event last year....

edit, Nevermind, I see it's in Cali.

vosko 04-28-2005 12:07 PM

i drove a s13 with an RB20 but it was all messed up the torque down low is fun though

cymfc3s 04-28-2005 11:39 PM

RB is from a skyline

TylerTRD 04-29-2005 09:37 AM

The RB20DET is 2.0L inline 6 turbocharged engine out of the nissan skyline. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif

PS i think im going to post some more pics soon of some nice burnout, will keep you up to date

cymfc3s 04-29-2005 01:16 PM

Ohhh ok. that makes sense. I had no idea. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

treceb 04-29-2005 01:27 PM

TylerTRD 04-29-2005 02:54 PM

treceb 04-29-2005 06:44 PM

cymfc3s 04-29-2005 10:10 PM

is it trendy now to do an RB swap instead of an SR? What computer do you use?

stock computer & harness! nisssans don't blowup when you double the stock boost https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

RB makes more power.....but its worse for drifting. throws off the balance and its not an exact drop in.....

TylerTRD 04-29-2005 11:22 PM

its simple, in my eyes the SR20DET is not that great of a motor! for drifting i rather have a KA but thats just me, all and all, the motor swap was 1700$ hes puting down alot! more power then an SR20, in that 1700$ he also got axels, driveshaft, steering rack, etc. So its a very very cheap swap, simply because its not very popular, its harder then an SR20. Same reason i guess a B18c5 is like...$6,000!!!! because everyone wants one for there mad JDM civic.

stock computer running piggyback with an HKC F-con.

Dramon_Killer 05-02-2005 08:23 PM

RB20 is cheaper. A friend of mine has a 300rwhp one in his s14. Thing is so fast. I think it redlines at 8100?

Triniwarrior31 05-02-2005 08:37 PM

Looks good, first time I've seen this swap.

Dramon_Killer 05-02-2005 11:35 PM

They've been pooping up a bunch lately. There aer still more sr20s out but for every 1 sr20 thyat pops up it seems like there are two moer rb20s being dropped.

TylerTRD 05-03-2005 05:48 PM

Im from around the bay area, and still there is maby 5 that i can tell you. Im sure in LA there are alot! more. the number one reson we went with the RB20 is beacuse of its race history and thats it. and it sounds so cooL!!!!!

Black8 05-03-2005 07:10 PM

Here is some pics of the RB powered S13 at the DGtrials event last year.

TylerTRD 05-03-2005 11:25 PM

yeah, it fits so much better with the OEM intake manifold!!

vosko 05-04-2005 12:40 AM

nah the oem intake manifold is crap........makes the piping retarded

TylerTRD 05-04-2005 12:27 PM

your right, that intercooler was easy to make.

There's several more than that!

Black8 05-05-2005 10:21 AM

they ever make an RB bigger than 2.6 liters?

DJ Rotor 05-06-2005 01:18 PM

Yes, but it was never used in a Nissan! The RB30E was SOHC and used in Holdens. There was an RB30ET turbo variant as well. Lots of guys use the RB30E short block with an RB25DE or RB26DETT head.

I think we are confusing blocks with heads.....you block heads!

drftk1d 05-11-2005 07:16 PM

rb engines are cool. i saw a rb25 in a s14 once.

i have a ka24de that im building because just taking the easy way out with the sr20det would be just like every one else does. And im building the ka because its a 2.4 liter instead of just a 2 liter. Theres no replacment for displacement!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif
