Well most of you seem pretty loyal to the RX7 always a good sign in a car. Hey phinsup what happened with the 2 mustangs you had?
Well you guys can at least say you had piston powered vehicles and you went Rotary. Man some of you have had some cars though! |
I've had one other car b 4 getting the rex. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
'86 505 peugeot turbo diesel :sigh: |
One of my friends had a peugeot dont know what model but it was actually a pretty cool car....
|
Hi all, Tim from downunder. I've had(and still have!) a very large collection of cars but I have basically stuck with my Mazdas/Rotors!!! The present count of Mazda's stands at 55(yes I have a problem!!) and number 56(1972 capella coupe(or might be called the 616 the US)), should be in the driveway be new year's. My current garage includes a series 1 RX7, a series 2 and 3 RX2 and a 1969 R100. I've owned a few other non-mazda cars, the most fun was a Mitsubishi shogun(montero!) that we fitted the Japanese 'Dakar' petrol turbo drivetrain to and got down to a 13.9 sec run on the quarter!! Not as quick as the rotors though!!!!
|
Man got the wooffinn parking lot!
Thats cool I eventually want to get a lil lump of cars together. Its kind of nice picking which car you will take to work or out to play! |

What wheels where on that 97?
16 or 17's? With a bigger sway bar and lowering springs would help massively on one of those cars! I have ridden in a 95 with 16 inch rims and in a 98 Saleen with 18 inch wheels and the performance suspension. MAN WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! But if you like Ford keep your eyes out for an SVO mustang! Especially an 85.5 model... 205 hp 5 spd 4 wheel disc brakes 2.3 turbo air to air intercooler T3 turbo I believe it is. Most people do a T3/t4 hybrid turbo. Many of the 2.3 turbo motors are running low 13's with very lil money in them and the SVO corners right along with the RX7's due to less weight in the nose. |
1983 Audi 5000S
1987 Audi Coupe GT 1986 RX7 SE 1989 GTU (still have) 1987 Turbo II 1993 FD (still have) damn i had alot of cars and i'm only 20 ..... |
The 97 had the 17 inch, cobra R wheels, they looked pretty good.
My issue is and no offense directed at the Mustang, I am huge into back country roads, I love to eat them up on my bike and my car both. The Mustang with some mods could pull ok, although I don't recommend the 4.6 overhead cam motor. It just wasn't as much fun to slam through the corners as either one of my RX-7's. I had some reliability problems with my 97 too, the reverse went out at about 4K, right front caliper was jacked and a few little annoying issues which made it not fun to own. Not to say Ford is junk, their trucks are great, I just got a bunk car or something to that effect. Owning the 97 forever soured me on Mustangs, it's just one of those things I guess. |

YEa very true, but that's why I say it's just one of those things. Once you get a lemon, it's pretty hard to convince someone to buy another.

I got one when I was 17, but I went away to school before I had a chance to take the road test. So I took it during my summer break. Guess what my first car was. |
Hey now.....
If you are referring to the Explorers.... look to firestone on that one.... Every car dealer has made their fair share of lemons... it happens.... lol but remember Ford owns Mazda now! lol |
