I recently picked up a '95 eclipse from a buddy of mine for my girlfriend who wanted it..after she changed her mind, and now has the '04 Tribute in my sig...she has decided she still wants to learn to drive 5spd and drag race and be in the "import scene". I got the eclipse for $1500...it's been owned by a friend of mine for the last 3 years and has a replaced 420A engine in it that now has roughly 70K on it. We did turbo the car, lambo door, blah lbah..but before I bought it we removed all that (since we were just going to sell it to his brother who didnt want the turbo stuff). So now, the car is basically in "ok" shape. No wrecks, body is straight..but typical mitsu bad paint. The car is a '95 and since it needs paint, I'm going to update the body a little w/ a '99 front bumper and headlamps. After this, the car is going to be a learner for the gf to pick up the skills she'll need to make it down the 1320 w/out hurting herself or the car, lol... I just figured I'd post some pics and things up of the car as we work through it. I know its not an rx7, but she wants an FD..and I'd rather her start on something less well...expensive, lol.

That's a clean looking car. Nice price, you can't beat that.

Great looking car. Great to start small and work your way up.

Lol, exactly...

That picture doesn't show the paint flaws that well..you can sort of see the hatch lid is somewhat "white"...the clearcoat had cracks in it, and one day when my buddy was waxing it, the wax creeped under the clear. The roof is in need of help too.

Side note, I have an extra engine for this car ..the shortblock is useless since the piston melted itself into the cylinder wall..but I do have an extra head, intake manifolds, fuel rails, injectors, etc... so we're looking at doing a port & polish on the head, throwing on some ARP head studs w/ it. That should net some extra HP for it in its "fornow" NA state. Once she is good enough we're going to go w/ a direct port nitrous setup on the extra intake manifold...
