Think about what he did w/ that car 225HP god knows how much they weighed they were not light and a 14.62??
I ran a 14.45 with my 260HP 2002 Mustang GT which I would imagine weighs about the same. He was really good at powershifting he knew exactly when to shift too, like clock work he was really consistant. |

I got to take a quick squirt across a parking lot in the Cobb Tuning WRX (Conebasher) in one of it's earlier incarnations. It still has the 2.0L block, but was running a little over 20psi.
I had never really driven a "fast" turbo car before. Another guy, that was more familiar with the car, was in the passenger seat. We were in second gear, and I mashed the gas at about 2000rpm. It started to accelerate... I was thinking "What's the deal, this car is slow". Then the guy in the passenger seat says "Here it comes!". I was thinking, "What is he talking about?"... Then the turbo hit. BAM! The car took off like a rocket. I had never felt acceleration like that before. Most current memorable. My fathers 68 Firebird. Bone stock. It is just amazingly beautiful. Too bad it is so slow.
Most memorable. My father's 1921 Ford T-Bucket. It was a kit car, built from ground up, and that thing was POWEFUL. Just stock it was, well, I don't know, we sold it 10 years ago, but I remember it being LOUD. I remember having to clean the headers, and exhaust every time he took it out. That thing burned alot of gas, and alot of oil. But what a beauty. I think the horsepower was between 500-550hp. And it had a setup for NAWSSSS, which is odd. Damned, I am still pissed at him for selling it. |

Buhahaha - My grandfather used to own a British Leyland repair shop in Manhatten. He got rich off of the Triumphs, Jags, Rovers, MG's etc... He retired at 50 and lived comfortably until he was in his 80's when he died.
When he sold out his share of the business in the very early 70's his reason for getting out was the Japanese cars. They made him nervous. His partner wasn't worried his reasoning was the USA will never forget Pearl Harbor so there was nothing to worry about. Probably the biggest mistake that guy ever made. British cars went from being chic and trendy to being old and played by the mid to late 70's. |
