"Recognizing that an advanced design concept needs an advanced powertrain, Nagare could conceivably be powered by a hydrogen-fueled rotary engine. Mazda's work on this advanced driveline technology is among the most advanced in the world, with hydrogen/gasoline-fueled rotaries powering RX-8s currently in service in Japan."

Correct. It was the hydrogen powered rotary that caught my attention when I just saw it on the tv. And the statement they are already in use in RX8's in Japan...

Car could use a little work. But, yea! hydrogen.

There are already Hydrogen 7s in Germany and a few in LA. None of the battery recycling issues or lack of power issues that come along with the Hybrid.

except that, last i heard, the renesis when running on H2 only produced about 100 hp... not exactly stellar either. Hard to get around the fact that once the hydrogen enters the airstream before the intake ports, it will expand and displace a bunch of air, making the engine comparitively smaller

That is just wrong, what were Mazda thinking letting their designers do something like that

It reminds me of that old cartoon on USA called Turbo-Teen where his mouth/teeth became the front grille of the car. Looks bout the same.

wow that's hideous looking, but i can see where a lot of the design que's rolled into the design of the furai. really wish they'd do something with one of these concepts besides just tease us lol

At least they managed to work the hideous "Mazda Smile" into that design.
