Freestyle,
Last Friday I went to the local Mitsu dealership..i came away impressed with the EVO. Have you seen it up close? have you looked inside? or better, have you test driven it?! Thats one fast bitch if you ask me..so much that I am a little scared that when the RX8 comes out, I would choose the EVO! She doesnt look that bad at most angles, and im sure that someone will make a rear tail lite thats better than stock...but when you pull away from the comp, those tail lites will be all that they see! |
i believe the lan evo has a smaller engine than the sti, thats why even though its pushing more psi it has less horses.
|
The Evo has the 4g63 motor in it (the same from turbo eclipses) That is why it needs more psi to run the sam amount of power. Eclippses had 200 hp at 12 psi i think thats pretty sad.
|
true that the eclipse has less power, but the evo's version of the motor has a much stonger bottom end and valve train...i wouldn't knock the evo for the engine. as far as looks go......the sti looks much more refined...the evo8 looks like some sort of slut you would pick up at a party to have fun with. that's my opinion
|
ive seen and been in the evo ... im not imprssed with any visuals...its fast...but interior is gross, and the exterior is even more gross - i love the engine but i wish they kept the better (older) designs
and i know the 2.5 is in the STi...but im sayin i like the body on that more, cause its = 2 door.... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png |
STI all the way. i mean come on, selectable center diff...as for the radio well i dont have one in my FD so no loss there. besides you can get it, its just a dealer installed option.

My order of preferance: STi, EVO VIII, SRT-4

you can thank the shitty 6 speed gear box in the STi, leave it to them to
make a car with more power then then Evo but still be slower because of the vague gear box. The EVO hands the STi its ass on the track as well, cant wait to see what happens when Mitsuibishi steps up the power. And by the way, the EVO now holds the record for the shortest stopping distance on a production car! Subabru claims no radio to keep weight down and because they figure most people will put aftermarket **** in anyhow. I myself cant justify spending $30,000 on either of these hot rod econo boxes. |
