Just thought i would post a pic of a old Ford(i think) that is at a dealer ship i was at the other day.

That's the old model GT-40 fully restored. They made a new GT-40 only a handful though maybe from 100-200 cars. The engine is a DOHC V8 supercharged 500HP. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/cool.png

The new car is actually called a "GT" due to licensing issues, and the one that you have pictures of my guess is a replica, there are several companies that make almost perfect repro's (check out kitcar.com for info) If it was a real one then they probibly would not have let you near it due to the half mil price tag. The original car beat the tar out of the ferrari's of the 60's and is notable for that, But my rx7 never threw a rod like the original did. all of the original ones I think were blue with white stripes.

ya the guy at the dealer siad it was a replica......some place in south africa or some thing made it.

the new ford gt lost the "40" because the "40" in gt40 stands for how high it was from the ground..... 40 inches....... the new gt40's arent as low anymore, thats probably why its only called ford gt

Hell, you guys would **** a brick if you were out here for the Sovren Historic races. There's a GT40 that makes it out there every year. This is a real race with one of a kind cars going wheel to wheel. Million dollar cars going at it. Gotta love those old dot.commers that still are reeking of money. Every years there is at least one accident.
