Auto tranny problems
Hello,
So a few months ago I posted about some problems that I was having with my auto tranny in my 69 square. Basically I had a shop re-build the tranny, when I re installed it I checked the hypoid gear oil & it was just below the hole in the side of the tranny. Also I added about 6 qts of auto tranny fluid, Dextron . Both are what is recommended in Bentley. Well one day while driving it started making a loud "hum" and then it locked up. It would move in reverse but not forward. I towed it home and I couldn't see any hypoid gear oil in it, so I filled it back up. Started it ran it through the gears a few times and rolled in into the street. Slowly it started forward about 20 ft then it stopped, reverse wasn't a problem, then forward again. Eventually I could drive it but now there was a weird "hum" around 38mph to 45mph. Didn't sound good. Finally about a week later I lost 2nd & 3rd.Talked to the guy who re-built it and didn't get much from him since it seamed that he was coked-up at the time. Needless to say I won't be taking it back to him. So now I am looking for someone in Southern California who works on T3 automatics and I can't find anyone. Called Rancho and they don't. Does anyone know someone in Southern California who works on T3 auto trannies? Also since I am not familiar enough with it and I don't know what to look for I do not want to attempt to rebuild it myself even with the write up that Multi69s did. Please help. I didn't find the right solution from the Internet. References:- https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/vi....php?p=8682776 Real Estate marketing example Thanks |
