Okay, I've been having internal struggles on the choice for a decent Daily Driver for sub $4k.

This car will be bought when my MKI Mr2 Sells, and is in efforts to have enough space for band equipment or more than one person (No 2 seaters), and at least be FWD (if not AWD) for winter months. It'll be my DD and secondary to the Rx7 of course and just be around for rainy days....

Given my low budget, I tried to think of a car that balances those as well as being somewhat fun, can merge onto the highway better than the Tercel (Family Xtra car, 84hp slug)...and looks decent.

I've boiled it down to:

2nd Gen Integra (Handle better than G3's and aren't stolen so much lol)

6th Gen Celica (Supra curves!)

Acura Legend (Lots of space, awesome BMW-ish sedan look and power)

Between those three, each has its advantages. The legend has the most space, while 6th gen has the least. The 2nd Gen integra *Probably* handles the best (Haven't driven a Legend or 6th Gen). I used to own a 2G Integra and it rocked. I like the "newer" look of the 6th Gen Celica, but the ST models are only 110 hp while the GT's are 140 (like the G2's).

So, how does the celica fair in comparason to the G2 integra (If you've driven both)

And hows the gas mileage (The only bad point) of the Legend? Does it reach 25mpg at all? Its a 200hp V6.

Any help/suggestions would rock! Thanks!

bang for the buck, 2nd gen Integras are awesome. I had a 90 GS and that thing rocked hard all the way to 235k miles, when I sold it. Original everything (minus tires and battery). I bought it for $500 and sold it for $400 after putting like 60k miles on it in like 10 months. Go for the Integra, since it's just a beater/daily. Plus you can't beat a hatchback for band equipment. I used to carry halfstacks (yes plural) in mine no problem along with my guitar stuff.

hey my x-girl had a 89 or 91 legend and it was a pretty bad ass daily driver. it had 4 doors and auto transmission had a pretty bad ass kick when it shifted. that car was pretty fast for a 4 door car and all the weight. cool choice in my opinion

if you want a FWD, a Corrado's nice, but i dunno if they'll have enough space

No! No! No! don't buy the 91 Legend it's nice but they have a lot of electrical problems in the early design. Look at the consumers report /rating on those years if you don't believe me. The old legends are prone to electrical disasters https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/ohmy.png Let me elaborate a little 89-92 Legend models electrical system shuts off while car is in motion (while your driving) this means no power steering,no brakes,no lights. Now just imagine yourself driving that car at 60mph then everything shuts off https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/ohmy.png

My best advise is to look at the Consumers report book then decide which car you prefer. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
