Wow, finally. Someone who simplified a hybrid and made it work. air compressed engine. I never would have thought.

How much you all wanna bet we'll start to see these on the road long before hydrogen cars? At less than a honda civic all they have to do is get dealers in the right area and it's a done deal.

Only flaw I see is that it seems thier first line of cars will be regarge only. I really like thier idea on a hybrid dual system.

Now if only someone would design a poweplant that generated more electricity than any other and didn't use fossil fuels. (it's possible. it's been done. and it's been rejected.)

Articulated con-rods, compressed air for fuel, moto alternators, polytropic expansions. Huh?

Thanks for the link. Very interesting stuff. I love to read about these new whacky technologies. Quasiturbine for example.

Cool tech, but evidently the engineers did the styling as well.

Tom93R1 01-18-2005 02:44 PM

It's called "Air Jammer Road Rammer". I had one of those over 20 years ago.

Bluemeaniews6 01-18-2005 04:32 PM

It seems sound as far as the tech goes, but would you really want to drive it? Eventually I see it coming down to a civil war in every country between those who love to drive and drive in excess and tree huggers etc. I know that a lot of these alternative technologies can go fast and feel near the same as a gas powered engine, but we know the gas powered engine, why not actually try and use 100# of the power that can be harnessed from an atom of gasoline instead of right around 2#.

Poseidon 01-18-2005 11:45 PM

you bring up a good point. The gasoline has lots of potencial that we havn't seen.

Personally, I hope that all average cars convert over to vehicles like this, but only if sport cars can remain gasoline.

Regardless of alternative engine, as much as gas prices have risen i'm surprised that car tech it going so well. As we see gas get more expensive SUVs are becomeing more popular and sports cars are getting more and more power. I fear this bubble might pop soon much like it did in the early 70's. Most people who where building track cars back then say that 69 was the last year of the muscle car surge that had gripped the nation. History repeats itself, it's just a matter of time.

There's no such thing https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Yah, isnt gas a compound molecule? No thing thing as an atom of gas, doesnt exist.

TheRiseOfTheFerret 01-22-2005 06:17 PM

Gas itself has a molecular structure. Every thing does. An atom of gas dosent exist, but an atom that is in the molecular structure of gas is its own element. Many different elements have to combine together to create Voltron... oops I mean Gas.
