a feel as if i am going out of my mind. i posted earlier about soon buying my dream car, and fd but now i am having somewhat second thoughts. i am only 17 but i have a great job with barely any payments to make so i can make quite good money right now. i want a rx7 pretty bad but i would want to put down like 5k to buy one. but i have also been seeing another car, a vw gti vr6. it is a hatch for those who dont know. and it is pretty damn fast. 200hp/200torque. but the fd is 155hp/200torque(torque correct?) so i need you guys to instill the rx7s greatness in my mind again, because i need a new car because the sol just isnt cutting it. i would be able to get the vr6 sooner too ebcause it is naturally cheaper than an rx7.
oh, answer rotary gods.... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif |

and BTW here is an "unbiased" opinion. notice my screen name???
Before I bought my FD I had a vr6 corrado, which is still nicer than the newest vr6 gti. Anyway. The VR6 positives: a monster torque plowerplant! A very responsive engine. Fun to drive, lots of power. The VR6 negatives: expensive to get into the high hp#'s(350+), exhaust is in the rear of the motor(PIA for a good turbo setup), engine runs high temps(230F). Now the FD, well she speaks for herself: beauty, power, style. What else can I say. You will piss on any stock or mildly modifies VR6 with a bone stock FD! |
Holy crap son, for your own dignity take the FD, and never let another vehicle unless it be a crazy exotic, or at least a TT Supra take away your passion for the FD. And remember: FD's stock = 255 hp!!

yes i meant to put a 2 were that 1 is sorry guys. and thanks for some of that info, the only real reason i like the vr6 is because it is a hatch and it is cheaper than the fd.

keep in consideration the insurance costs ....... specially since you're pretty young.

Between those two, definitely the FD. I have a Jetta 1.8t, and they practically walk the 24v VR6's stock, just due to the gearing. Also, the 1.8T cars are slightly lighter also, but def. the FD over a VR6.
