VW GTI 1.8T and call APR. www.goapr.com. 1.8T has more potential then the rest. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/beer2.gif

pengaru 09-14-2002 09:03 PM

turbo lag is overrated, nothing spray can't fix https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

90_GTU_jeremy 09-14-2002 09:58 PM

I am glad that I am an old man. My insurance is only 300 for 6 monthes on my Van and Bug together. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

90_GTU_jeremy 09-16-2002 06:34 PM

hehe my parents pay 900 a year for two new cars with full coverage... athough now my rx with liability added 1100 a year to that

12A 09-16-2002 06:56 PM

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/wacko.png The VW Tuner that makes that clame is APR. Check out their web site. Turbo lag??? In time you learn to drive the car so that you don't have it as much, you'll learn the car.

DJ Rotor 09-17-2002 08:29 AM

The 1.8T has about the least lag of any turbo car out there.

It was designed to have the driving characteristics of a V6.

90_GTU_jeremy 09-17-2002 04:52 PM

thats sweet... i think thats what im going for. i was looking for a tuner that wouldnt void the warranty so i could buy the chip... boost hp to 220 and not have to worry about blowing my engine.

turbovr6 09-17-2002 06:08 PM

Put the $$ in the bank and sit on it for a few years

90_GTU_jeremy 09-17-2002 11:24 PM

lol yeah.. but that isnt following the set of rules i was given... money is for the car only... not for a bank lol.. not my rules (read the initial post buddy) otherwise id be fine driving my gtu till it falls apart. my exhaust already is

4n-power 09-22-2002 08:22 AM

20g's huuu.. Get a 93-94 supra Twin turbo. They sell used for around that. They are hella fast strait out stock. I had a at. 93 that went 13.4 @108 bone stock. And 12.46 @117.9 with 1500$ in bolt ons. Or by being on here I would think you already got a rx-7. If not that would be a killer bang for the buck,if you could find one in good running conition. + you would have sevral grand left over for mods. Make it a viper killer. Me , I'v down graded to a tsi awd 93. love the power I'v been able to get out of it but the car is not at all as good looking as a supra or rx, also the hadling is a far cry from thouse two cars

90_GTU_jeremy 09-22-2002 07:38 PM

duh ok? read the initial post.. used cars are a no no

evilT2 09-22-2002 08:37 PM

lag should be no problem for the gti, i used to have an a4 with the same engine in it had little to no lag at all. the turbo on it was pretty small, so spool up time was minimal.

the gti's are nice, a friend of mine had one. pretty blue and red gauges at night. let us not forget the fine leather, heated seats, and a very decent factory stereo. drove very well also.

90_GTU_jeremy 09-24-2002 03:51 PM

cool finally a good response... yea im probly going to get one. i just read on some other site that you can get tokico shocks and springs as a dealer option for less than 500 or something like that. and considering the main complaint about the gti isnt power but soft handling i think that would be sweet
