I was planning on swapping the old 2.0L engine out of my 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse and putting a rotary engine in. I already have the engine, harness, computer, clutch, etc. I have contacted Kennedy Engineering about a bell housing adapter plate. The biggest issue I have questions on is how to integrate the electronics and engine management systems. Does anyone know if this has been done or if there is an off the shelf solution to handle this conversion?

hmm. have you thought about cutting the unibody and welding in a trans tunnel to make it rear drive?

just buy an aftermarket ECU... like a Haltec, megasquirt, etc..

Should be interesting.

Stand alone all the way, would like to see some progress as you do the build.

The GS version of this car comes in AWD, I have been investigating swapping in an AWD trans and rear diff. It may end up being more trouble than it's worth. It is probably easier to use the stock trans, not sure how well it will hold up to the extra HP though.

Thanks for the suggestion on the ECU, I looked at a few options and the megasquirt appears to be the way to go. I will probably begin the project within the next few weeks and will look at my options more closely then.

if you have the gs it already has the driveshaft tunnel, get a hammer and rosebud torch and hammer out enough room to fit the entire FD drivetrain into the car. you'd probably also have to shorten the driveshaft (any race and some trans shops can do this correctly for you) and the PPF, which you'll have to do and hope to god your measurements are correct. it sounds daunting but some of the most incredible cars at the shows are the ones that are completely different from anything else. I say go for it and post pics of the progress!! oh, and make braces for everything cause i don't know how rigid the stock unibody is for the dsm's

yeah someone from peru ...!!! thats great hope ucan help me with my project

and i think doing a eclipse swap is not worth it , just go and sell ur motor and get a v8 or a s4 turbo motor 100% easier thn doing that

Maybe you for got the "X", but AWD was only offered in the GSX Eclispe & TSI Talon for that body style. All other models were FWD & in 95 GS model didn't come with the 4G63, they had the Mopar 420A. Verts came with a 4G64 for the GS & 4G63 for the GST, but still FWD it if I remember right.
