Well, No excuses I'll be out there Sat and Sunday seeing if the car is more prepared than the driver. I suspect it is. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blush.gif My first novice points time trials... I'll try not to embarrass myself.. to much.

Stop on in if you're nearby

Still plan to make some Autox out there but schedule has been a conflict so far.

hEHE COOL...

Ok THAT was fun! I din't embarass myself to much... ok forgot to get my transponder and "Car 54 where are you" was announced.. hehe not planned.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

Anyway, Look ahead to July I think. You can run your street car in the club trials at speed against the clock. No excuses, drive smart and fast. You Autox ers should do well but your brake marks happen ALOT sooner and your late apex skills will pay off. I'll get more data when a get a moment...

By the way one guy did spin himself into a tree on the opening warm up lap scrubbing his tires... dang it was an RX7... tire scrubbing won't get much into your tires on a cold morning but silly things can happen from it... Weekend done before he even finshed a lap... ouch! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif

I was consistantly at 1:05 sumpthin so little tweaks and practice to move into the 04 range next! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

Club Trials / Track Trails

(Discount Deadline: July 15, 2006)

SCHEDULE Entry Form

I may need to get up with you for the next one. If nothing else come down and check it out. Time trials/track days are the whole reason for the purchase of the rx.

This all makes more sense now...

I thought it was going to be an autocross. Then I saw the photos and saw cars getting chased down. (I was worried about how close they were at an autocross). Now it all makes sense.

So Neil, did they have transpounders there to loan or rent?

What does it cost to run at the event?

How much time did you actually get on the track?

Thanks! JEB

Yes transponder to rent I forget tho about 35-50.350 if you lose or bust it.. (was very distracted getting prepared)

To run both days cost me $150 Club trial may be a little less, I don't know, Plan on 150-160 for 2 days, 110 for one only.

3 -20 minute sessions both days. Practice (don't tire scrub, you just look stupid) https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.gif , qualifying, racing.

I was TIRED when I got through but totally giddy from the fun I had. Those of you that did the PDX last year, up the speed level a notch and expect a little more track time than you did in PDX. Everyone is helpful and friendly like the AUTOX crowd. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif

In club trials you just need a helmet and a basically safe and sound car.

In track trials you'll need fire suit, boots, gloves etc.... and have your car caged and meeting the appropriate class rules for Improved Touring classes.

Great way to get a taste of racing at speed in a safe, low risk enviroment. (As opposed to battling for position) It is a courtesy thing. Point the faster cars by on the straight. You are racing the clock. Come see what your car can do! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

Hey Neil,

Will a single layer racing suit pass tech, or do you need a multi layer suit?

I think it has to meet SFI-3 now... so check your rating... if a 2 I think the Nomex long johns count towards the 3.... Again the suit is only needed for full on track trials class, not the club trials.

ohhh yeah!you have that wicked prepared vintage monster.... oh dear! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/bowdown.gif

better to write Mark an email and ask him.

Ok, Neil, teach me here

What is the differnce between club racing and FULL ON TIME TRAILING?

Kill No Cone 05-02-2007 09:24 PM

Oh ya, I am hoping to have my Rx2 out at the 5/27 BSCC practice.

Mainly the safety requirements. Time trials or "Time attack" tends to have more prepared cars with cages fire systems and slicks... usually faster speeds and more experienced drivers and some #$%^ing fast cars! This TT1 Mustang materialised in my mirror, several times. Stinkin fast! In time trials you can pass in both the straights at Bremerton.

Club trials may be limited to passing only on the long straight (Like last year's PDX), but you just need a helmet, long sleeves and pants and a safe car. It is an intorduction to trials that doesn't force you to prep the car to try it out. try the link above and give mark a note. He is very helpful and glad to see more participants interested. Let him know how you found him and mention this forum group and me. If we get enough people we can start to set up a full day of racing as well as take part in events with multiple classes.

Memorial weekend I'll be at Pacific Raceway in a SCCA double nationals time trials class so will miss the bremerton day.... Have fun. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif

Thanks Neil, have fun at Pacific Raceway!
