I would just like to let anybody that would potentialy look for parts at an auto wrecker.... DO NOT GO TO I-5 Auto Wrecking!

Terible customer service! They treat everyone like they do not know what they are talking about (what the F*** would they know about rotaries!). Very rude. They talk about customers behind their back and even in front of them! Do not keep track of vehicles they even have on the lot (not very well catagorized or organized). Make up prices as they go and very overpriced also. For example...

They have an 83' RX-7 that I spotted on the lot but wasn't even in their system. There was an odd stock number on it (different from the other vehicles) and on almost every window it was noted in windshield marker that the car had been donated to the lot ( so they either go it for free, or the old owner had to pay them to take it). I happend to notice that it had the lexan sunroof and the pouch for it also. So I take out the lexan roof, put in the old roof, and take the lexan roof and cover to the counter thinking I have got myself a kickass deal! No such luck. The ******* at the counter doesn't even have a record of that vehicle on the lot so he starts looking at what the going rate is from autoglass insallers and other junkyards around the nation! He says cheapest anyone else in the states is selling it for is $150 in Utah so he says he would sell it to me for $107 + tax... Like that was some kind of friggin' bargain!

On top of that I had other parts to get (rubber air intake tube from a 91-94 Taurus and a Taurus rear swaybar). When I went out to the lot they had like 8 Taurus' that I could have got the tube from and one that had the swaybar. So I get the parts and bring those up to the counter. Now keep in mind that my job has an account with them so we usually get cut a better rip off than what they charge everyone else. They charged $15 for the air tube (8" piece of stock hose!) and $35 for the stock sway bar!

I was treated like a retard when I called on the phone about the parts. I was treated like a retard when I told them what I needed at the yard. And I was treated like a retard after I had picked up the parts I needed!

I strongly discourage anyone from buying any parts from them (they quoted me over $1,000 for a wrecked 91' NA engine that had over 180K on it!).

DO NOT give these assholes your business!

-end rant-

That's why you go with a pair of bolt cutters for that pesky fence/razor wire at 2 AM and get yourself a great discount.

well nothing has changed. That is how they treated me 10 years ago. I only go to pull a part in Tacoma/Puyallup

Codeblue 01-30-2006 09:29 PM

it seems that most of todays junk yards are like that.

sidewinderx7 02-02-2006 05:02 PM

Don't forget about Covey's, up in Marysville.

They have several FBs and FCs to get parts from, and they're good about letting me go back with them to choose the best part. Their prices are very reasonable, and their electrical stuff is tested whenever possible. I've been going there for four years now. I just got a windshield-wiper motor from them for $35 and it works great; if it didn't work I can bring it back for another one or get my money back, no problem.

So there's always Covey's, and some of our members have parts also. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/cool.png
