Sun, 24 Jun 2007 Return to the String of Pearls
As usual, we're meeting at 10am, and leaving at 11am. http://www.the-winding-road.com/modules/eg...vent.php?eid=19 I know the 1st anniversary is the Paper anniversary, but I couldn't think up a good sounding name for the drive that included paper. For June we're returning to the drive that started it all. The String of Pearls, aka Whidbey Island. It's hard to believe we've been at this for a year (granted, under another guise to start), but we have. Special Thanks to 05TiGr8Lady for the pre-lunch portion of the drive. This was a great way to get onto the island, so mess with it. |
I think I can do this one. Looking forward to it.

I think I can do this one. Looking forward to it. I guess I will see you guys on this Sunday drive!!! |
Cool, I look forward to seeing you folks again.
|
I'll have to keep this one in mind, since it is actually in my area.
|
It'd be great to see you come out. It'll probably be 2 or 3 months before we get back up that way again.
|
Overview map is up, directions are finished. As of right now there are 5 cars registered. You know you want to join us.
|
I'm in barring any unforseen incidents. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif

Excellent!

1 week to go. The Route Flip Charts are almost ready to go to press, so if you want one, please register sooner rather than later. I used Kinko's in April, but that was pricey, so I really need to use a proper printing press this time around, which means lead time. I'll have a couple extra copies.
Of course, whether you register or not, you're welcome to come. Just remember, once the registered drivers get their Route Books, it's first come first served. |
I am now questionable for making the drive. The reliable car decided to back off an axle nut 1/8" and now the wheel bearing is toast. I'm trying to make arrangements to get it fixed this week, but I don't know for certain. I'll keep you posted. I'm trying to get it ready for the huge Euro Levenworth drive on Saturday.
2 cars and now they are both broke. Argh! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif |
Busy this upcoming weekend. But when are you coming back down to the pierce county area again?
|
I'm not certain about pierce county. We will get south before summers over though.
|
Ok, I am willing to drive a ways but exist 221 is quite a distance for me.
|
On the upswing, I should be good to go. SK Motorsports was able to get my car in yesterday for the new wheel bearing and hub. Gonna be tired sunday, but looking forward to it. See you all then.

Great Helios16v.
z-beater, how far south are you coming from? I'd suggest you meet us at lunch, but there's really only one other way to Deception Pass, and that would mean driving the length of the island south to north, and would definitely take longer than the route we're taking to get to the park. |
Last chance to register. Online registration closes at 10:00 tomorrow morning. It's not necessary to register, but it does help.
|
I am in Lakewood. I am busy this weekend. I would like to go on a drive with some of the rx-8's though. Seemed like a cool bunch of folks at the dyno day last year. This weekend is slammed, I will be working on the 7.
I think that to get there I would have to head to hwy 3, correct? Meaning that I would have to head down to hwy 3? |
Actually, I think you'd just need to hop on I5, unless the Lakewood you're in isn't one of the 2 Lakewoods on my maps
|
|
Nice, who drove the ferrari?
|
That beautiful machine is owned and driven by a gent named Darren. He was know to the group this month.
