Just a brief guide on how to post pictures on threads without using the forums storage

First find a good image hosting site.

I use www.imagevenue.com because they are free and you do not have to have an account (you can have an account for free if you wish though).

Along with being free they also have unlimited bandwidth useage and you never have to worry about them deleting your images.

On a side note you will need to make sure that you have your images in JPEG or JPG (only down side to having ulimited free picture hosting with imagevenue)

So for this example I will be going to www.imagevenue.com

http://img134.imagevenue.com/loc21/th_57703_guide_1.JPG

you can select to either register so you have an account with folders so you can organize and keep track of photos or you can just select browse and select the image on your PC that you want to upload

after you select the image you want to upload you will be taken to a page with "code" you will need to use to have your images shown on your post

http://img128.imagevenue.com/loc178/...83_guide_2.JPG

you will use the "code" in the box that I circled

after copying that box of code just paste it into your thread and the forum takes care of the rest.

it will look something like the text in the following image.

hope this has been helpful

This guide will basically translate to any other image hosting service so don't think that this only applies to the service/site I show in the guide.

good cause imagestation sucks. i just realized they got rid of a few albums i had in there.

**** it takes forever to upload them though.

at least they resize images if you want them to and they take care of compressing them down to the maximum size they allow. I am not sure but they may even convert the images uploaded to the format they allow (not sure because I always have had my images in the right format already)

I got cable and I wrote this guide in literally 5 minutes including each uploaded image I used for the guide. I am sure there are other sites out there that do good image hosting and I am sure there are other guides that are probably better than mine but I wrote the guide as it applied to nopistons (and the "other" forum).

hey. it was good. i was able to do it. hell, that says alot. i was just tryin to upload 300 images. got about 80 done thn got tired. would share the folder...... but i don't know if i can.

yeah I am not sure about sharing folders either. I know that initially when I posted multiple images it gave me code for all images at once. If and when I find a better or different service I will let you guys know.
