As some of u know my car is not working right now. But i am in need of some info. I need to know what parts i would need to get so i can change out my coolant seals in the engine. I was told that when my car over heated that it blew out the coolant seals because it will still run but u have to compression start it by pushing the car 2 or more blocks to get it going. and then i cant let off the throttle because it wont idol by itsself. but anyway i want to try and rebuild it by myself but i need to know what parts that i will nedd to get so i can start saving the money to do this. i dont have the money to send it to a shop i want to do it myself, but i just want to replace what i have to so it will run again soon. can someone help me? my phone wont be working for a while so if u want to get ahold of me just email me at halarson@hotmail.com i will get it real fast and get back to u soon. thanks everyone.

ohh no thats not good! is your car blowing white smoke ?? if your sure you toasted those coolent seals then u will have to rebuild the engine, that will be a minimum of a 150 dollar kit...

a basic over haul kit ( if your apex seals and other metal seals are within spec, but u wanan replace some of the springs an other small items), is prolly aroung 200-300

then depending if u wanna replace the apex seals , and other metal seals or all of em, it can go from 400 up to 800

Is this a first gen Hal? If so, have you ruled out the O-rings in the intake yet? if they're the problem, it's about a twelve dollar gasket and you're on the road. If it's the internal coolant seals you'll need a complete gasket set and will have to look at everything inside to find out what needs replaced.

Good luck,

Brian

yes it is a first gen, and actually i am not sure if it was blowing white smoke. i dont think it was. if not then that is a good thing, right? i still have to take the intake off and then find out if that is the problem or not. but i still have to push the damn thing approx 2 blocks or more before it will actually start up. but it does start that way it just takes it along time to start up. but it wont idol by itself, i have to hold my choke out for it to stay running. but i do have more horse power when it is running on the freeway. also in order to take my intake off i have to take the thermal ehaust off and then i can get to the intake nuts. i wish there was an easier way of doing this. plus i dont have a garage to do this in. oh well my bad luck.

wow talk about timing. yo blow your engine and i blow a tranny the same day... what are the odds... mutha fluffa

While its running is it eating coolant, or pushing it out of the overflow? Maybe you could pressure test the coolant system and see what happens.

just skip all the diagnosing bullshit and throw a 13bt in it. odds are you will need a new motor anyway.
