It only takes once, then you'll know and you'll avoid that potential at every cost.

Man does it hurt, I thought I was blind. I couldn't see for like half an hour. Saline Solution was my best friend for a bit.

I've gotten a mouth full, eye full, hair full, of gas.

So I ran new fuel return and pressure is where i want it, but the bitch still won't start. I'm about done. If someone wants to give me $2500 you can have the car and all my parts. I'm done...

I really hope you can figure it out. I wish that I could buy it from you at least. unfortunately I don't have the time or money to work on it myself. Keep plugging away at it. You got fuel pressure right. So what else is it doing? Symptoms? Is it getting spark? Timing? Let us try and help as much as we are able.

Sorry that it has been such a PITA for you. Kepp plugging at it.

Is it possible, that all the fuel washed out the oil behind the apex seals. I would pull the plugs and pump a little oil into each housing. Spin it for 30 seconds or so. Then put the plugs in, turn on the fuel pump and cross your fingers. Dont rebuilds have really low compression for first hundred miles or so. Your really close, I would hate to see you give up now. If it is ignition related I have some extra ignitors i could give you as well. Keep trying.

I had/am having a very simialr issue. My holley blue pump could not go any lower then 4.5 psi on the mallory FPR. Every time I adjusted the carb I was only able to do is make more fuel come out of the carb floates. I ended up breaking an apex seal because I lowered the float level soo much that as soon as I revved the motor it ran lean and detonated (I think).

I had checked my retuen line (all was good) and my FPR was hooked up correctly.

The only thing I could think that could be causing the problem was the holley blue fuel pump. I think it still flowed (volume) too much fuel even though the fuel pressure was close to correct.

Try swapping a stock SE pump or a 12A pump in and try again. I'm not sure if that will work because I still need to swap a working motor into my 1st gen.

Good Luck buddy,

Joe

Don't give up...

When all is done and figured out it will all be worth it...

I have a good 12a pump you could have. Don't know if that helps any, but worth a shot.

The fuel isn't the issue now I think Chris is right. It's 40* out side right now and I'm a little bitch so I'm going to try it again tomarrow before church!

Hyper4mance2k 04-16-2006 12:50 AM

fawk so I've got spark. when I crank it with the plugs out and on the shock tower they spark like a mother! I've got fuel cause it mists out the plug holes when I crank it. I know I have way better compression than before. So why won't it start? timming. I put the pulley at tdc and lined up the dizzy and dropped it in. I'm utterly lost. I don't know where to go from here... this is it if it doesn't start tomarrow I'm going to unload 2 boxes of amo on the pos and have it hualled away...
