It was fun to meet all you guys - I wish they could of figured out what happened when I was up on the rollers.
The dyno kept braking on me, several times in fact. The last one actually locked up the rollers at about 6K on my tach! I hit the clutch ASAP to avoid lauching off the rack, or flat spotting my tires. I was also worried about the shock to my drive train. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/angry.png Mine was the Titanium Gray RX8 |

Woundup that hood looks awesome! Numbers any better than ABF last year? Thanks for the comment, its incredibly light. Horsepower was 208 at 8.5 psi. Which is better than abf last year which was 189 at 8-9 psi. I was having trouble building boost, so i had then load the rollers on the dyno some more. Didn't help much. Of course on the way home I realized my problem. I keeping raising the set on the boost controler to get more boost, but I forgot to raise the safety limiter at the same time. So I had it set for somewhere around 12-14 psi but my limiter was set for 10 psi, at 99% wastegate opening. Duh, I such a dumbass. Sometimes i hate electronics. I am the first gen dyno king until abf, take your time dave, no rush. Gotta give props to Macguiver aka Kompressorlogic. 200k on a turbo six port 10 psi 231 hp, pretty impressive. Somebody buy this man a home depot gift card.! |
Great meeting those I'd yet to meet; I didn't know my bald-spot was so visible! :(

I think that you would have been the day winner if you would have had that exta 1.5psi. Plus our cars are not fat...https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png I am sure that I will have some issues the first few times on the dyno. You might still have more than me. I just need to get it back so I can work all the kinks out.

Z,
I thought you were goping to dyno your beast. Is it not ready yet? Joe Not yet, close though. I will have some dyno tuning time though so I will know what she will do before ABF https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png Here is a website that I am starting to make. Be nice, it is the first that I have ever done. Go to the pictures page. http://insanerx7.i8.com/index.html |

A COUPL EMORE |
For those who remember my car's issues...I took the car to Wayne at Lincoln-Mazda of Olympia.
The guy has had my car for fewer than 4 hours. Pulled the cat - PIECES fell out. He drove around w/o the cat for awhile - PLENTY of power. he's going to Next-Day-Air a cat to me...AND get me that starter and new battery for the hard-start issues I'd been having....issues the OTHER dealer would NOT fix because I notched out a piece of my battery cover to run a power wire. The OTHER dealer said that little notch is causing the hard-start issues and therefore won't be covered. wow....It's SO refreshing to NOT have to BEG a dealership to work on a car. (sigh). Nemesis8 - YOU the man. Milam Mazda, Puyallup had the car for TWO DAYS and was afraid to even diagnose the problem. Milam told me "the intake and exhaust MAY have caused a problem, therefore the entire engine warranty would be voided." They said that in spite of me calling them out on it - Magnusen-Moss Act states pretty clearly a warranty can't be voided SIMPLY by using aftermarket parts, unless the parts were SHOWN to cause the failure. Milam refused to cover the car w/o showing cause. Needless to say, I have a new dealer. |
glad you got your car figured out!!
ya i first tried to do the dyno after the lockup on that rx8 and it tried to stop me too.. .. they went back to a previous software version and the problem went away. for the rest of the people |
Yo, yo, Here's some relevant "dyno info". https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
My Turbo II dyno-sheet: http://www.hostdub.com/albums/425pro...1139.sized.jpg My Turbo II dyno-sheet with AFR's http://www.hostdub.com/albums/425pro...1138.sized.jpg 350z dyno-sheet: http://www.hostdub.com/albums/425pro...1140.sized.jpg And here's a short and crappy montage-video of my Turbo II on the dyno, my Turbo II racing the Galant VR4 (check the story and mods at the Rx7club.com "kills section" or 2nd. Gen. time-slips and dyno) and my Turbo II racing the 350z from a roll. http://youtube.com/watch?v=0YBI3Zp1af0 |
Nice video. I was amazed at your friends space age camera https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Yeah, it sucks that the footage got compressed so much... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif It is SOOO crisp and nice, watching it in it's "original" form... But yeah, he's got a really nice camera. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Smile...does look nice I don't want to copy everything someone does to their car. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png Just gotta be the same as far as Turboing blue, only because I should have done this to begin with instead of the supercharger. Can't get much HP out of the Camden chargers, but hey I really enjoyed it when I had it. Im not looking for crazy HP numbers, but 210 is kinda boring after awhile. They say your never done with your car...this is so true, so Im not sure whats next for Blue. Probably concentrate on the interior part next. Im trying to keep Blue as stock looking as possible. |
