So we decided to join some local bmw and tehdriven guys out at Carb Connection this morning for their monthly dyno day. There were some e36 M3s and a 328 that ran and me in the 7. Wanted to see how she was doing since we've been working on getting her tuned a little better. Here's the results:

I pretty happy with them since we ran at 218 at ABF and really haven't changed too much since then. Mostly replaced the faulty turbo afm, with a na afm. and installed the aluminum flywheel. First run was 7-8 psi, second and third run was 9 psi, we ended up adding a bunch of fuel in the upper ranges. Then I raised the boost up to 10 psi and did the last pull. So I hit 249 at the wheels with 10 psi, which is long way from where I started. ABF 05 was 180 at the wheels on 8-9 psi. Oh yea no sacrifices to dyno god today. Drove home under its own power.

congratulations on the new found power. So do you think you got the bugs worked out now? I guess you are fine using the NA afm because you got the safc to make adjustments.

thats good! what type of dyno do they use there?? ive been up there before but didnt check it out all the way

Yes I am using the na afm, scary. I put in the HI map Dave and I made this summer with turbo afm. I was hitting 13.5 or so at 6500 under 8 psi. So we threw in a bunch more fuel up top. went from -10 at 7k upto +5 at 7k. I think it could still use some more fuel actually.



It is a dynojet dyno. The one thats has higher numbers when compared to a mustang dyno.



I started talking with one of the techs there, and he was the one who worked on Bentot's car. He said that was his first and last rotary period. He said they would get it running awesome, then on the next pull it would run like crap. Never could figure it out.



I wanted a baseline run, before I start top secret plan B. Then I will return to the same dyno later this year. To compare runs.

haha yeah i remember helping alex a few times with bens car, boy was that a nightmere that car had gremlens...



we should all have an rx7 dyno day there, for big numbers!!

All and all the number seem to be in line. A stock 96-99 M3 puts out 240 hp at the flywheel. A stock one yesterday came in at like 210 rwhp, and one with some bolt ons hit 225 to the wheels.
