ethyl alcohol (corn/grain whinkey)
#1
so i find myself getting pissed off at the cost of gas (i'm sure you all are)well i own a car that soon will have an average MPG of less than 20mpg. with costs of 3.00 a gallon that could go up or down why should we pay such high prices for such a bad product.
well to the point then
ethanol (ethyl alcohol) while being better for the planet is better for your car as well
ethanol suports compression ratios all the way up to 15:5:1 this means for you guys interest in boost that you can pull much more power out of your car with almost no chance for detonation
"Increasing the compression ratio of the engine will be impractical for most people, because of the expense and work involved ... however, this modification will do a great deal to improve engine performance and economy. Just like a timing advance, a compression ratio hike will take advantage of the potential that alcohol has to offer as a fuel. Optimally, the ratio can be increased to 14- or 15-to-1 ... but even a nominal increase - to perhaps 12-to-1, a figure that some manufacturers have already offered in the past for premium gasoline use - will result in a vast improvement over the standard 8- or 8.5-to-1 that most manufacturers incorporate into their engines today"
also this fuel is so environmentally friendly that you can get your whole smog system and still pass emitions

so what i want to know is if anyone else is interested in this i'm researching this right now and may very well be switiching atleast my camaro over to ethanol over the summer both as a test and as a way to increase performance and beat the costs it will give me to drive it around.
please post any and all comments opinions and interests
also this can be used in any e85 application as well with less modification needed to run it as it uses 85% ethanol 15% gasoline or other hydrocarbon by volume. holley and edlebrock both make carbs that are e85 ready at a wide range of cfm and can custom make if not what you need.
so basicly what i'm saying is if any of this has peeked your interest please research it farther and if you decide this is for you i may be offering this fuel at a reasonable price
more links for you

remember this may be a biofuel but its basicly a race gas with at 195% alcohol being close to 115 octane
