Saturday, October 10th, 2009: BBQ & Meet @ Thompson Park in Jamesburg, NJ

Come join us for a day of food, fun, and Mazdas!



Mazda Team Mid-Atlantic (MTMA) is a local club for Mazda owners and enthusiasts in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. It is open to all Mazda models, like the RX-7, RX-8, MX-5/Miata, Mazda3/Mazdaspeed3, Mazda6/Mazdaspeed6, etc. Due to family issues, MTMA has not been active for about two years, but that has recently changed. As I now have the time dedicated to successfully manage this club, I am working on bringing back MTMA to its former glory, and am going to be squeezing in a few meets this year before winter. This MTMA meet & BBQ is obviously one of these meets. Also look for additional meets and events to be posted soon.



Jamesburg is in central New Jersey, right off of the NJ Turnpike (I-95), and is almost exactly in the middle between New York City and Philadelphia. It is just under an hour's drive from each city, making it a good location for an MTMA meet. We had a meet & BBQ at this same park a few years back and it was a lot of fun. I'm aiming for 25+ Mazdas in attendance.



A 50/50 raffle will also be held, and I am trying to get some raffles for prizes like gift certificates from makers of Mazda aftermarket parts. More information will be posted as it is known.

COST: $8 per MTMA member, $10 per non-members



This money will go towards the permits necessary as well as the purchase of food & non-alcoholic drinks. We will look into obtaining an permit for alcoholic beverages (beer and wine only, no liquor), as this will be an all-afternoon event. Of course, any alcohol will only be served to those 21 and over.



Additional money over these costs will first go towards acquiring gift certificates from Mazda vendors for giveaways at this meet, and then into the MTMA general fund to help finance future meets. Admission is $10 per person, but Mazda Team Mid-Atlantic members receive a $2 discount for admission for themselves plus one guest. For example, an MTMA member bringing one guest will pay $16 for admission ($8 each). An MTMA member bringing two guests will pay $26 for admission ($8 each for the member plus the first guest, and $10 for the second guest).



If you are a Mazda owner from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Delaware, membership in MTMA is 100% free, just sign up at the MTMA Forum and introduce yourself. I'll then contact you for some information about yourself and your car if you would like to be featured on the MTMA website -- you can contribute as much or as little information as you want (or none at all).



Payment must be made in advance, no later than Wednesday, October 7th, 2009, via PayPal to info@mazdateam.org. Include your screen name in the message along with a note saying it is for the 'October 10th Meet & BBQ'. I know that some people pretty much despise PayPal, so if you are not a PayPal user, please contact me for alternate payment information.



If you need to cancel, you can do so up until Wednesday, October 7th for a full refund, no questions asked. I will be purchasing food and drinks for this meet on Thursday, October 8th and will need an accurate head count, so payment for admission is non-refundable after Wednesday, October 7th except for extreme or unavoidable circumstances. Please contact me as soon as possible if you need to cancel after Wednesday, October 7th. Obviously, somebody who has something like a birth or death in the family will be given a full refund, but after this date refunds will be given on a case-by-case basis.

Take exit 8A off the NJ Turnpike

After the toll, make a left turn onto Forsgate Dr (CR 612) towards Jamesburg

Cross over the train tracks

Make a right turn onto Perrineville Rd (you will see construction in front of you)

Park entrance is on your left



From Garden State Parkway South

Take Garden State Parkway South to the NJ Turnpike South (exit 129)
