hey guys, long time since i've posted/read. hope everyone is doing well. moving along.
does anyone know of a place that really knows their 7's? im thinking of getting a turbo conversion (on my fc5s), or perhaps just rebuid the engine. and also wanna re-do the tranny. gear ratios and such. so im looking for friendly, knowledgable people that can help me, in the nyc area. any suggestions? thanks in advance. |
hum. i mean fcs5.
btw, can someone clarify that s4/s5 thing. i never saw it until i read thru the forums today. whats diff between fc3s and fcs4/s5 i read that s4 is from 88-90 and s5 is 91-92. or something like that. |
S4 = 86-88
S5= 89-91 there are many good shops. what exactly do you want done ? |
wuts the diff between 'fc3s' and 'fcs5'?
well i was hoping for a shop that could take care of all my needs. but specifically i want to rebuild the engine. get it street ported. or turbo convert it. and less complex things as well. new exhuast. remove a cat (i dun care if its not street legal). not really too sure, wanted to talk to people first before i spend my hard earned money. |
FC3S means 2nd gen rx7. there is no FCS5. what do you have right now ? its alot easier to just a N/A engine. converting to turbo is expensive and time consuming...............
|
ahhh. i was confused. i have an 91 fc3s, almost completely stock. n/a
yea i heard converting to turbo is hard. and generally not worth it. wuts best way to increase performance of n/a? so any specific shops to help me rebuild my engine? |
get full exhaust and a street port should be around 200hp.... car will be very fun to drive then https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
local shop's http://www.jrsrotaryperformance.com http://www.kdrotary.com http://www.rx7s.com http://www.sevenspeed.com i have used KDR and JR's. i highly recommend jr's |
thanks for the imput vosko. i'll go with your suggestion and hit up JR one day.
any suggestions on which exhuast i should get? and wut exactly is streetporting? |
porting basically increases the amount of air that can go in and out of the engine. jr is a racing beat dealer, so he can get you racing beat products. i have used racing beat products on a few of my rx7's they are quality pieces. they are a little pricey but you get what you pay for https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

vosko is the man...thx for the info about exhaust. i also need some help with my rx7 and i'll check out JR's
