Now that everyone has ranted, described, and, questioned the present state of MRCCFL, are there any thoughts for moving forward and correcting the issues?

Perhaps a petition for a redress of grievances by the paid members, in conjunction with a physical meeting. A special meeting is provided for under the bylaws. Further, a physical meeting would allow members to review the financials, which is also provided for under the bylaws.

Yeah i think we need to branch out and start a new club that allows anything rotary powered or anything that is an RX car, regardless of drivetrain.

Thanks for a reply. But, I'm not talking about a new club or changing the current structure. The question was / is whether anyone is interested in correcting the problems that have been discussed and if so how?

Ok, well maybe we could modify the requirements for membership in this club then. I think that it would boost our membership and definitely increase the finances. Just think of all of the v8 powered FDs and FCs there are in rural towns here in Florida, all of these rednecks with 350 FCs, their mudflaps and mullets would be a great addition to the club.

Sorry, i had to get in on the action. Could i be an honorary member?

CantGoStraight 12-29-2004 06:49 AM

There's a provision in the membership for those who like rotaries but don't actually have one.

Hey John,

Did Ian's post catch your eye ? ? ? ? Now why couldn't he post on the "official MRCCFL forum" What could possibly be contriversial about the ballot information ? ? ? Jack

Are those rhetorical questions? LOL. First, IMO there is no “official MRCCFL list.” The list is owned by “Ian”, who has stated that the list is not the club’s. He has the list under extensive moderation to block and censor posts. That said, how can there be an “official list” for discussing club business.

Second, I can only guess why the election ballot can’t be made public. LMAO, because the ballot probably just has boxes next to blank spaces, so we can mark boxes and the names get filled in after we send the ballot back. It’s known as the double secret probation ballot, which is a variation of the famous Florida butterfly ballot.

The insanity continues, which point of the original post. How do the MRCCFL members get their say? If all power and control is vested in one person it is not a club, it’s a cult. Again, are there any members interested in resolving the current situation and if so how?

There's only one way I know of to correct the problem. Vote in a new president, however if he's controlling what goes on the ballot just like he's controlling everything else I'd say it just can't happen. Happy new year and let's see if we can move on. Jack
