Hi, not only am I new to the rotary engine world I think I'm in the vast minority being a female with this car https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png . I have an 85 that has not been loved engine wise. It sat for several years and the friend that resurrected it cleaned out the carb and got it running. Sounds great and goes great WHEN you get it started, hubby is a heavy diesel engine mechanic so this is not his area. I'm looking at carburetor rebuild kits - is that the right direction to start?

It's definitely not a bad place to start. It's relatively easy to do and definitely a good choice if it's been sitting a while. There could be other issues (plugs, distributor, wires, etc) but I would probably start with the carb too!
Just remember the basics, fuel, air, spark for combustion. If the carb rebuild doesn't do it, keep checking those 3 areas. |
