Hi everyone, i am new to the forums and i have been reading up for the past few days and there is LOTS of useful info on here. I do however still have a few questions i would like answering. First i shall enlighten you on my intentions.

I have aquired a 2008 7000mile old Renesis motor, i have the motor, ecu, diff, halfshafts, rad, fans and rear hubs. I intend to be putting this little lot into my 1971 mini clubman, this will be front / mid (just behind the front wheels) engined and rear wheel drive. I know what is involved in the fab work (the easy bit) (welder and mechanic / garage proprieter by trade) to chop the floor / bulkheads ovalves ut of the shell and fab a trans tunnel and rear subframe and engine mountings. What i am unsure of is if i can utelise the standard intake / exhaust setups. I have been told that there is the ecu and a pcm and the standard clocks that are required to get the actuators / aux intake valves functioning. Is this correct? i would have thought that the entire engine functionality would have been controlled by the ECU. The motor was from a manual 2008 model if that makes any difference.

Cheers in advance

Welcome to nopistons! Sounds like you have a hell of a project ahead of you. Unfortunately I'm not sure of how the renesis Ecu works and I think those on here who've done a renesis swap have used aftermarket ecu's......but I could be mistaken

Thanks for the reply, i think i am going to have to trawl through the workshop manuals and wiring diagrams and schematics to figure it out properly, or the other option is to buy a pcm, wiring harness and speedo clocks, and wire it all in like that. Either way, its going to be a long time in the making and i am in no hurry, its just nice to know so plans can begin.
