hello, i just bought an 87 TII this week. i've got a lot of work ahead of me. i decided to get my 7 after not finding anything else turbo'd in my area. i also always had my sites on RX7's, especially 2nd gens. they're hardly any out there and they're hella attractive. the one i bought is the least attractive one i think i've ever seen. should saved my money but, i've fallen for this car- Gold and burgandy. love the sound, the shape, the everything, except- the condition of my body and interior. the body is trashed from the front bumper to the middle of the fender on the pass side. its also got a couple creases near the where the windshield should be. i say this cause- there isnt one! need one of those along with fender, bumper, supports, headlight w/motor, and god forbid- i need a TII hood. this is no cherry car- but its a platform to start with. i'm ok with the body work and im really glad its got a pretty fresh motor cause, i really dont have the cells in my head to start messin with this rotary just yet. i'll prolly be one the young guns with the FAQ's. well, just thought i'd introduce myself- the kid from NC with a tore up TII!

btw- the reason which i have really gotten into RX7's consequently came from my previous car interest. i was very deep into toyota corolla's. i've owned 3 and i'm just 17. after starting to assemble my 3rd motor, i decided it was time to go with something i probably couldnt tear up easily. my inspiration for buying a rotary came from another corolla owner. i met him at a race last summer. he was one of the fastest 4cyl cars(or so i thought 4 cyl) i had ever seen. he was drag racing his 81 corolla into the high 6's in the 1/8th. i finally got the chance to talk to him after seeing him run multiple times. i ended up tripping under the hood of this little miracle on wheels after speaking to him to discover a turbo'd rotary. as i talked to him, i couldnt really get his secrets out about his little bundle of joy but talking around the track got me the much wanted info i was looking for. under the hood of this beast was a tripple rotary with a huge turbo, holley 4 bbl and bundles of other go fast goodies. after seeing this car get on the track with its driver holding down thousands more RPMS than any other car on the track, i decided it had to be me. if anyone knows of this guy- IRA from Durham, NC- you're a lucky person i'd say. he's got his rotary's figured out.

I am located in Wilmington,NC and belong to a group of guys you should check out, the Mazda Sports Car Club of North Carolina. Here's there link www.msccnc.org they meet on the first friday of every month near the raleigh/durham airport and all have Mazdas. a couple SCCA race, some autocross and some do roadrace events at like Virginia International Raceway. Bye the way did you ever get a TII hood? And do you need any maroon interior parts for your car?
