New FD in Canada, need advice!

Hey everyone, nice to register on these forums finally. Well ever since I first found out about the FD as a kid I was instantly in love... there was just something about the car that made me feel so emotionally attached to the idea of one day owning one. I watched and read countless pieces on it and fell even ore in love. Yesterday my dream came true and I purchased a 1993 mazda rx7 with 110,000 km. The guy I but it from sadly was just turning a profit on the car after the previous owner before him who did all the mods and drove it for nearly all its life got it impounded and couldn't afford to get it back at the time. He knew a fair bit about rotary engines and knew a lot about turbo sport cars in general, but he still didn't know every little mod and detail about it like the guy before him did. Damn I would have loved to talk to the guy that did everything to the car. Dude doesn't even know if and when the engine was rebuilt. When I test drove it and my mechanic test drove it, it pulled like a mother fucker and everything checked out minus a very tiny oil leak. I bought it despite the bit of leak because the car was almost worth what I paid for even as a roller with the roll cage and racing tires+rims.

From what I was told and can see for myslef the mod list is:
Blue racing seat (shitty ass seat, no harness)
Blue roll cage
Some Japanese exhaust that is alright sounding
HKS turbo piping
Electric Boost controller.. Shitty brand, I barley understand how to use it
ECU (guessing by the boost controller and the lowest psi I can get the boost controller to run is 13.7psi)
Tires
Duel air intake
Some cheap cracked body kit
boost gauge and water gauge
Probably some more mods too, claims it runs 400 horsepower.

Then the shitty part happened when we went to drive it home.. it got pretty hot and started back firing like a mother fucker and wouldn't drive well. Today I drove it a bit around town, maybe 6 little trips and it was perfectly fine. The coolant system appears to be stock, might be why.. Oh and the left pop up headlight doesn't work.

I'm going to try and put off driving the car as much as possible for now but it's hard.. I finally have my dream car and it puts the biggest smile on my face every time I see it and it gets so much attention. So basically I have a few questions:

How much will all or most of the reliability mods cost me?
Any way to tell if the engine has ever been rebuilt?
Can you tell if there is any other mods from a picture of the engine?
Advice on what I should do with it?
My goal is to get it where it will last as long as possible and be a bit of a everyday driver (I can resist flooring it and redlining every gear when I'm just driving normal) and still be able to take it to the local track every once in awhile.
Thank you for your time!

Here is an engine shot (I took one of the intakes off)

Is your mechanic familiar with rotaries? Otherwise I'd take it to someone who is!
You picture doesn't work? But any oil leak on these motors should be taken pretty seriously unless you know exactly where it's coming from and what the cause is.
It sounds pretty stock, and since I can't see the picture I assume it is.
Cranking the boost on it, won't be beneficial at all with a stock fuel and cooling system.
Tell me more, is it LHD or RHD. Post up some pics, I'll be happy to help if I can. Where are you?
