Welcome to nopistons!

Things you will need to be able to answer:
"No, you don't have to replace the motors every 30 thousand miles! That was in the 60's and earlier!" "Yes, you can get over 300hp with only 1.3 litres!" And, "it looks like a beer keg with two triangles in it (creating three chambers, gas, spark and exhaust)"... 9000 RPM!" Your love your 7! Good luck! |
Thanks to all for the warm welcome https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/tongue.gif

Hey that makes two of us...im also a newbie at rotarys.
Wad up guys?? This is the deal. i have a 89 rx7 with 310k miles on the motor. im going to swap it out with a motor with way less miles on it...i want to take out the air pump and all the emissions junk out and just try to block it off with a custom made block off plate out of aluminum sheeting. my question is what would b tha outcomes of this? can anyone help me out! Thanx! |
You would have a car with less miles and more gasses coming out the tail pipe. Assuming you don't screw anything up along the way.
|
HAHAHA! Coo just aslong tha car starts and runs. I just wanted to clean tha engine bay a lil and I didn't like how that ball of junk was looking poppin out of tha side of tha manifold.
Well like you said I hope I don't screw it up along tha way! Thanx |
A motor with 310k is running at its best! Before you swap it out. take it out and drive teh snot out of it!
Welcome and enjoy your car! |
Lol! Yeah that's what am doing. Am powering out tha lil that motor has left that's how I know or think is giving out. Idk is its tha compresion but at high speed or at high rpms tha motor studders!
I thought it needed a tune up so I changed everything. Spark plugs, wires, oil and oil filter! Everything and still tha same thing. So then I went for tha coils and changed them out too and still same thing. So tha last thing I thought it could b was tha compresion. 310k on tha engine so am guessing it could b tha seals. What you guys think? Thanx for tha welcome bro and yes am enjoying my 7! |

Well tha fuel filter is new. Idk what else can b wrong with tha fuel system if it would b tha fuel. It doesn't idle bad or anything.
