Hey guys i have wanted a rotor for ages and finnaly im going to buy 1 monday, its a rx7 12a turbo, and apparently has a 12at box, what can i look for to make sure the motor and running gear is fine??? i dont want to buy it and it blows up driving home. PLEASE HELP

The best thing that you can have done is a compression check. That will really give you a good idea as to the state of the engine. Other than that, it is just a car so look at it real close and ask questions, but that compression check can save a lot of head-aches down the road.

Body wise I would check that there is no rust. Might not be a big deal for a few years but soon enough it will take over.
I am not too familiar with the 12at but I would check the normal things like OMP etc. |

I agree with the compression check, i would also drive the car, check the fluids after the drive, looks for leaks, rev the engine and look at the exhaust smoke, blue/white possible trouble on the future! good luck, Andres https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/tongue.gif |

Yep, compression check. Hold down the pressure release valve on the gauge, and watch for 3 even bounces as the engine turns over. |
