Hey guys, obviously new to the board as per the "New Member Chat" post, so I'll keep that brief. I've got a '91 FC (duh), whitish-purple pearlescent paint, five speed with the normally aspirated engine. The car is originally from the Amherst NH area in '96 as this was the first Carfax registration found and later transferred to I'm guessing the last PO in '97 in Bridgewaters Corners VT. The first question I've got for you all is does this vehicle sound familliar/any PO's still here? I'd love to know the history of the vehicle and can post some pictures of her upon request. Let me also state that as the car had been abandoned for over a year, and I followed procedure on buying an abandoned car, it is in fact my property and there will be no negotiating on getting it back.



Second question I've got is how often do the MOP's die out on people? I've got an idea for a rebuild/replace service for electrically operated MOP's and would be interested in feedback on whether people would go for this. In return, I'll need as much collective information as I can get, beyond the test procedures and test values. Specifically, changes in circuitry design, and changes in chip manufacturers, if available.

Oil Metering Pump, or Metering Oil Pump, depending on who you ask. It's a small oil pump that delivers oil into the combustion chamber to lubricate the apex seals. When it goes bad, it'll stop oiling, and your seals might fail. Typical price for a new one is around $1400 for a S5.
