I went up to the gas station (about 7 miles away) to get 110 in my tank for my Autocross in Sebring this weekend.



I motor past a SVT Lightning on my way home on a 3 lane road. He is in the right I am in the Left as I tool by minding my own business. Yes, I saw him but this area tends to have a lot of cops so I was hanging low. Something catches my eye in the rearview. Its the Lightning doing a 3 lane swing to get behind me. Then ahead,... a red light.... He cuts off the guy in the center lane to get next to me.



I look over at him give a couple of revs. He responds with one big rev from his truck. Its on....



Light green I get a little wheel spin and he gets about 1/2 a car on me. I hooked up my tires and it was over. I mean I sucked his headlights out. I know he was in it I heard his supercharger screaming as I blew by him. I hit second and walked on away. Didn't even bother with a 3rd gear shift to add insult this race was over at 50 MPH.



We caught another light side by side and he just took off nice and easy. I bet he thought he was going to teach a ricer a lesson.

Good kill. Reminds me of a time when I was at a light with a lightning in my na. It was a three way lightwith a right turn lane left turn lane and a straight lane. I was in the middle and saw a kid I knew from school so I reved a little to get his attention, and the next thing I knw the lightning does a little burnout. Well not to be outdone I did about a 30 second burnout with about 10 different cars sitting around us waiting for the light to turn green. I got a thumbs up from the guy.

A 99-2000 Lightning makes 340 fwhp

A 2001+ Lightning makes 380 fwhp



The newer ones run low 13's stock.

With less than $1500 they can run low 12's.

My daily driver is a Supercharged Harley Truck

with some mods. In the 1/4, I can beat a stock FD.

Geez....Lightning's Suck! I just looked it up. They are freaking expensive as hell. $33,000!! and they only get 12 mpg! I think I will stick to me Fd.

I had something similar happen to me, but this guy decided to blow past me to announce his presence and then slow back down in his Lightning. My gf is smiling because she knows what is about to happen. We are both at a stoplight late at night, goes green and I even give him a head start to make it fair, he lunges off hard and I punch it in first gear eventually.. boooost.. shift and let him hear the tires break loose in back before I SUCK THE PAINT OFF HIS TRUCK as I pull many, many cars on him. I just let off at the end of second because it was oh so ugly. Ok, so it isn't fair that I was driving a TO4 FD.. funny nonetheless.
