I was on my way home bored as usual when I came upon a mid 90s Taurus with the SHO bumper and what looked like a dual catback. Not thinking he might jump on the chance to run me like most everybody else i let him off and just kept on driving.
Well, all of a sudden this guy pops some black soot out his pipes and off he goes...naturally, looking to have some fun i downshifted to 3rd and got on his ass. Traffic was not exactly heavy but just enough so that WOT runs were impossible nevermind lining up. So after almost driving right through him a few times I let him go and figured it was a lost cause to try and race with that many cars. Well, It just so happened that after a few lights and some lucky moves we managed to line up. So at this point he must have either ralized the mistake he'd made or flat out beat the will to race out of him. After a few more tries he jumps on me, by the time i hit decent revs(having issues with midrange) i catch in 2nd and shift to 3rd at 8k and CYA...easily killed his ass!!! After all that i notice my gas gauge is as low as let it get so i kill the fun and take the first exit kinda hoping he'd follow and maybe wait for me to gas up so i can beat him again but it wasnt to be. Next time I guess! It did move pretty decently for a family mobile, i'll give them that much. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png |
Well, they do have a v8 in them, although it's only a 3.4 liter, rated at 235hp. Glad you had fun putting him in his place
they have V8s in them??? really, had no idea...thought it was a V6.
yea im pretty sure its a V6 built by yamaha.
kevin. |
the newest sho has the v8 and i think the yamaha v6 is better then it
I believe the early 90's had the 2.6?liter yamaha v6. Nice motor for a family hauler. I am guessing the V8 would have been in the mid 90's?
it looks like a big heavy family car but then again, thats what it is
LOL |
My bad. The '96 through '99 had 3.4 liter v8s in them. The '92 though '95 had 3 liter 220hp v6s in them (as the top engine in both groups of years)
sweet! There pretty cool cars.
I remember running across a severly modified white one up here with a cam and a huge set of exhaust pipes. He hung with me all the way up to 120 before I started pulling like crazy. They are really potent cars so long as they don't have the new body style and that **** tastic v-8.
Ya the yamaha v-6 is way better. Same engine i think as in the SVT contours.
